Cheshire Neighbour’s Credit Union’s Young Saver Accounts are specially designed to teach young people to save and manage their money effectively. They are available to all children from birth to the age of 16. An account can be opened with as little as £1 and children can save as little or as much as they would like.
We have Young Savers using our accounts for all kinds of purposes: some are saving for a bright future, while others are working towards more immediate goals – a longed-for toy or pet, or spending money for their holiday. It’s a great way for parents to spread the cost of the big school trip too.
Encouraging your child to open a savings account can be a valuable first lesson in money management and an exciting way for them to watch savings grow. The CNCU Young Saver Account also has the following benefits:
Savings can be paid into a Young Saver account using a wide range of methods; payroll deductions from a parent’s employer, cheque, direct debit, standing order or PayPoint. Saving a small amount from pocket money, Christmas and Birthday gifts soon adds up.

Our Schools Savings Clubs are growing every term. It’s a great way for children to start to save and learn the value of money. Older pupils get involved in running the club, taking cash and completing paperwork as Young Cashiers, and promoting saving to other pupils.
Would you like to open a Savings Club in your school? Give us a call on 01270 685625 and we’ll gladly come out and explain what’s involved.
