As you may be aware Cheshire Neighbours Credit Union is currently winding-down the banking services we currently offer to our members, leading to closure of the business and members’ CNCU bank accounts.
This is with much regret, however, it is a decision which has been reached and agreed, by our Members who attended the Annual General Meeting on 11th March, 2020. Further information on this decision can be read under ‘AGM Minutes’.
To comply with our Banking Regulator’s guidelines on winding-down the business to closure, CNCU must:
STOP opening new savings and loan accounts immediately. All paperwork and information regarding these accounts is no longer accessible on this website
REPAY members’ savings and close the account (NOT savings attached to a loan account). Letters and emails are being sent with instructions and guidelines
Repayments must continue to be made to Loan Accounts, in line with your Credit Agreement. We will be looking at ways we can support you, if re-financing is required.
Engage Accounts/Engage Cards – this service has now stopped.

If you are using CNCU as your main banking account, you will need to open a new bank account with alternative Bankers and advise your new bank details to CNCU, your employer and DWP (if you receive any benefit/s).
